Compress a video to fit any size

Choose where it is going or type a size. You get a file just under it, with as much picture as the size allows — and you see what it will be before you start.

How it works

  1. Drop a video or choose one. Its length, frame and size show at once.
  2. Tap where it is going, or type the size in MB. Before you start you see the frame and frame rate it will have.
  3. Compress. If the first run misses the size, it adjusts and runs again by itself.
  4. Download or share the file. It is an MP4 (H.264), the kind every phone and chat plays; if your browser can only make another kind, the page says so.

Why this one

It hits the number
You ask for 10 MB and get a file under 10 MB, usually 9 MB or more — never over it. The real size is checked after every run, and a run that misses is done again.
Nothing is uploaded
Your browser does the work with your device's own video encoder. The video never leaves the device, so it is private and there is no wait for an upload.
You see it before you start
The frame, frame rate and sound it will get are shown before you press the button, not after.
No watermark, no sign-up, no daily limit
Every file is yours, as many as you like.

Questions

How do I get a video under Discord's limit?

Choose Discord (20 MB, the limit for free accounts since August 2026) and press Compress. If the person you send it to uses an older app, or a bot or site that takes less, type that size instead. The tool works out the bitrate the clip can have and makes the frame smaller only as far as it must: at 20 MB a 30-second clip at 30 frames a second stays at 1080p and a minute comes out at 720p; at 8 MB a minute comes out at 480p.

What size should I pick for WhatsApp?

WhatsApp sends videos up to 64 MB on a slow connection and 100 MB on a fast one, and shrinks every video it sends itself. Pick WhatsApp (64 MB) so the clip can go as a video on any connection. To send it exactly as it is, send it as a document instead (up to 2 GB).

Why is Email 18 MB and not 25?

Mail sends a file encoded, which makes it about a third larger on the way, and the 25 MB limit counts the message as sent. A file of 18 MB is about 24 MB on the way, so it still fits.

Why is the result a bit under the size I asked for?

It aims for about 97 % of the limit, so a chat or mail service that counts a little differently still takes it. If a run lands far under, it runs again to use the room.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. The page reads the file in your browser and writes the new one there too. Once the tool has loaded, it keeps working even if your connection drops.

Why does a long video look blurry at a small size?

Every second needs bits. At 10 MB, a 5-minute video has about a fifth of the bits per second that a 1-minute one has. Trim it to the part you need, or pick a bigger size.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome and Edge, Safari 16.4 and newer on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Firefox 130 and newer on computers. They have the built-in video encoder this needs; Firefox on Android does not have one yet. A long or 4K clip takes longer on a phone: a few minutes, with the screen on.

What do 1 MB and 1,000 KB mean here?

One MB here is 1,000,000 bytes. Some apps count 1,048,576; aiming under the smaller number fits both. A file shown as 9.7 MB here is at least 9,700,000 bytes and under 9,800,000 — the figure is never rounded up.
